Brazilian Butt Lift in Boise, ID

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Brazilian Butt Lift, or BBL, is the enhancement to the shape and size of the buttocks. This is done through a fat transfer procedure using liposuction. Fat is harvested from areas of the body with unwanted excess fat, purified, and then transferred to the buttocks. The incisions that are made are small and are hardly noticeable after healing.

The method of fat transfer to buttocks for brazilian butt lift surgery has replaced the use of implants in popularity mainly due to the customization of the results and use of your natural tissues.

How is a BBL performed?

The fat that is harvested for BBL surgery is typically taken from the patient's abdomen, hips or thighs. To do this, fat is removed through liposuction. A cannula is inserted through small incisions, fat is loosened, and then suctioned out. After going through a purifying process, the fat is injected into the buttock. Fat transfer for BBL will shape the buttocks to give you the desired curves you are after, beyond the dimensions of a butt implant.

BBL Candidates

Candidates for BBL surgery are individuals who lead a healthy lifestyle, but have a lack of natural volume or shape to their buttocks. BBL candidates must also have enough unwanted fat to harvest and inject back into the buttocks. Individuals wanting a BBL are looking to increase the size of their buttocks without having to use implants.

Potential Risks

In addition to typical risks associated with surgery, BBL risks include:

  • Asymmetry
  • Fat Embolism
  • Numbness or Nerve Damage

Recovery

For lasting BBL results, aftercare is very important. It is common for patients to experience some pain/discomfort, bruising and swelling following their procedure. To help with this, medication will be prescribed by the doctor. A surgical compression garment will also be provided to help minimize swelling.

In the coming 2-3 weeks after your surgery it is important to avoid sitting directly on your buttocks. Modified sitting positions should be used when needed as well as cushions or pillows to provide a padding. This is because some of the grafted fat won't take following your procedure and added pressure from sitting can affect that even more. Similarly, it is recommended that you sleep on your stomach or side to avoid added pressure to the buttocks.

We suggest waiting 6 weeks to exercise, or until you are cleared by Dr. Nealy. Daily activities can resume after 7-10 days. Following and maintaining your surgeon’s dietary guidelines such as eating lean proteins and avoiding sugar, fat and sodium can help prevent water retention.
