Have you ever taken a really good close-up look in the mirror? Maybe you noticed that your pores look very large – and unfortunately, a little problem like large pores can mean big problems for skin. Read on for some information about what causes large pores and what you can do about them!
The Little Problem of Large Pores
Having large pores is a very common problem – perhaps because there are so many different reasons a person may have large pores. You may have them due to factors that are out of your control, such as genetics, or as a result of getting older. As we age our skin loses collagen and elasticity, which can cause a variety of skin issues.
There are, however, things that you do have some control over that may be contributing to your large pores— one of them being improper skin care. It is important to use high quality skincare products on your skin daily like our medical-grade Silk Touch RX and other high quality brand products we offer. We also suggest washing your face twice a day to get rid of oil and dead skin cells, which can build up in pores and enlarge them. Moisturizing your skin twice a day can also help. It may seem like a bad idea to add a moisturizer to your skin if it is oily, but keeping skin moisturized can help to reduce the size of pores. This is done by reducing oil down in the deeper layers of the skin instead of on the surface, where it clogs the pores. Additionally, wearing sunscreen is beneficial to both your health and the longevity of your skin. The sun dries out the skin, which can increase the appearance and size of pores. To help with this, we recommend using a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30.
